An anonymous couple from Brackenhurst, Alberton have a strange phenomenon. Some background first. About 8 years ago, they purchased their house from the estate of a man, who committed suicide, in the double garage. Shortly after the purchase, they converted the double garage into an en suite guest bedroom. Once the project was completed, they kept on finding the basin tap open, the water pouring out, this despite them ensuring it is always closed when in the room.
They called in a plumber, who found nothing wrong. They have now turned the water off to the tap, until they need it to be used. On top of this, both of them, as well as a few guests who have slept in the room, have seen the shape of a man, 'scurrying' from one side of the room, to the other.
He appears close to the door that led to the garage (which now leads to the new room) and moves toward the road side of the room, before vanishing. This does not occur often, yet they say it seems like a film on repeat, as he does the same thing every time.

One final strange things also happens- their toilet flushes by itself. They report both being sleep and awoken by the toilet flushing. Again, no fault as yet been found to found to explain it.
An email from somebody who asked to remain anonymous tells of living in a huge house in Boksburg, Gauteng, that once was owned by a Dr Moffat. He was apparently one of the first doctors on the East Rand, therefore the house is very old.. The house is situated in an area called Plantation. Her mother and her shared the house with a number of other people. She recalls how they would often hear chairs moving on the old wooden floors, and upon investigation, everything was as it should be. They would often hear things ‘dropping’ onto the wooden floors, where nothing was evident.
The living room appeared to be pretty active as well, with the smell of candles, an alcohol breath, the smell of tobacco,- as if somebody was smoking in the room. Obviously there was nobody around that could be responsible for these smells. She also related that sometimes, you felt as though you simply could not go into the living room. The house is currently a coffee shop. From some investigation, we established that Dr Robert Moffat stayed in the house in the middle 1800's

Bert mailed me this account. He, his girlfriend and their daughter moved from their flat into a house in Germiston. Once they were settled, they were either woken up, or dragged from watching television by the chatting and laughter of their four year old daughter. When going into her room, she was sitting up chatting to an 'old man'. There was nothing visible to them. When they allowed her to sleep in their room, there was none of this. After a while, and obviously creeped out, they moved her to the spare room. The chatting and laughing stopped and she slept. Her old room is now a study and no further activity has occurred.

Today's account is a little vague, due to the mists of time, but I will relate it anyway. Sandy, now in her 80's, recalls that when she was around 9 or 10 years old, a ghostly figure used to walk in front of her bed on a 'regular' basis. It was a lady, in a 'flowing gown' and 'curled hair'. She does recall being terrified. Sadly she cannot remember too much else, but when she was around 11, her family moved from Kimberley and she has never had another ghostly encounter.

Bennie from Florida in his own words:

"I live in a complex where there are one, two and three bedroom units. I did live in a two bedroom one, but the rent was steep for me.
I saw there was another unit, with only one bedroom, that many people moved in and out. So I did think this would be perfect for myself as it was less money.
I moved in three months ago now. It is not comfortable for me, asI feel that somebody is watching me all the time. Sometimes as night, I do hear things move in the lounge.
My girl friend, she has a small puppy. She is always happy and friendly. But, when she at my place, she yaps at nothing and then cowers with us. She never moves from where we are and look so scared. Then when she out the flat, she is her playful self again.
So far nothing bigger has happened, but I do feel like I have somebody else there and I feel very frightened.
