Bathroom Encounter

Liz, went on an historical tour of Johannesburg. This included a house that was described as 'one of the oldest in Parktown.'When she entered the first floor bathroom, she felt as though 'the air got thick' and she could not breathe. Although nobody else in the group felt it or took her seriously, she describes the terror as she felt a weight around her neck, as though something was strangling her. This only intensified the closer she was to the bath. Obviously shocked and frightened, she fled the bathroom. Once she was out, her breath returned to normal and the pressure from her neck was released. The tour guide had no explanation, but after a little investigation, she established from the caretaker, that in the early 1900's, a man, visiting the resident family of the time, had hanged himself in that bathroom.
